Snake oil!

For controlling DED at certain times of year though is advisable to prevent infection entering a fresh wound.

However, doesn't help decay, load of BS.

They sell a lot of crap you'll discover over the years. And when you get real good at your job, know shit from clay with all this crap around, people will think you're pretty basic!

Like what, you're an arborist, surely you can inject, paint, drill and concrete this tree ... isn't that what it needs.

When I learned I put on spurs and when to top
tied in and pulled overhang not most peoples
first tree. I climbed on them all through the eighties
and the truth as I have seen it the trees heal well
to reasonable spurring. I have done different climbing
since but at times still prefer to gaff. I have seen
climbers that have given gaffs a bad name and after
they go up looks as if a group of grizzly bears climbed
them! I don't wear them most trims but being that
90% of my work consists of removals caused by oak wilt
and pine Beatles I wear them a lot! I personally have never
seen a gaffed tree die as result of spurring I have seen trees
that had a worse condition die and was blamed on spurring!
Most trees I have used gafs on were on a five year trim cycle
and old gaf marks were barely visible if visible ant trees were
healthy as any.

What's a palm tree? 8 inches of snow yesterday, plowed for 16 hours straight.

Holy cow.

I just had a look at the world clock thing and Wizzcontinent ... -8C .... THAT'S BLOODY FREEZING!

Around here leave ya beer out it gets too hot to drink, round there it'll burst and look like some-one pissed on the snow.

I dont even think our freezers get that cold, plus the wind chill factor.

You guys must have big wardrobes for all those clothes for those seasons. Me, I got all types of T-Shirts for every season.

So, you climb trees in that and work? How do the saws run in cold like that, rich?

It truly depends on conditions I have worked in Michigan
and Nebraska and when it is -40 actual with any wind you
even with arctic gear have to work in intervals, meaning
we took turns! Here in Arkansas it gets cold about two months
sometimes more but nothing like the north and midwest as far
as saws in teens you keep them and yourself going wide open
to stay warm
