on palms etc 2x4's are used to leave some bark unsqueezed. But carpet would help a lot. Glad both of youse guys are thinking. I'm jealous--I won't see the slopes until january. booking white mountain in vt, a lot more hill than we have down here. |

Working on editing sunset and night shots from last evening.....brr, it's cold.... Here's a couple from just after it snowed, Sunday morning: my courtyard, and its centerpiece, an upright green Japanese maple, about 30 feet tall x 35 feet wide ![]() Cowboy Dave got this bike from a customer, for his kid, but it sits at my place....in the way, till now! ![]() Last nite, only 2 of 140 shots chosen and edited so far... my first try at HDR compositing...using 3 bracketed photos in my new Painst Shop Pro software ![]() seems just as good, working with just one image in the simple free Picasa.. increased the fill light which brought out the sky and dead madrona... |

You're welcome to mine....cheap at $1800..body only.... I need to upgrade it to the Mk lll....and get the new 5D when the backlog clears up...it's o nly $2700.... really, though, a 50D or even the cheaper Rebels work very well. |

| Worked all day in 25 degree temp. It helped tho as we ground stumps on a campus and would have buried up to the axles as we have had a lot of precip. lately. The nasty weather makes the nice more enjoyable. Yin and Yang.

| Re: Welcome to Tree World Thanks, looks like a very informative site. I look forward to contributing. I have a 1983 Husky 61 with an 18" and 24" bar. Also a Poulan 260Pro for the light stuff. Both saws are in pretty good shape for all the use they get. I cut about 15 cords a year for firewood and people look at me funny when I say I enjoy the exercise. I split all my wood the old fashion way. |

| ITS SNOWING LIKE CRAZY HERE!!! Which is a little odd, because down here on the desert floor we rarely get snow. Last time we got THIS MUCH snow was about 5 or 6 years ago, and its still going strong. I'm headed up to the mountains to do a couple jobs up there that I got calls for. Dug the snow chains outta storage and put 5 bales of hay in the back of my truck and tarped them off. Up up and away into the wild white yonder! |

I'd love to be there to see that, of course I would have my video camera! Keep in mind that the greasy side is supposed to be DOWN! I have had occasion to watch people who seldom see snow drive, it is always funny UNTIL someone gets hurt. SLow down and double the distance between the vehicles, all will be good until some moron cuts in between ya!

I've seen that too! The best one was the guy pulling a BRAND new bumper hitch travel trailer, on December 24th, just south of Minneapolis MN. He was heading towards me on the interstate, and where the road turned from asphalt to cement, he lost it. Spun two complete circles and ended up in the median between the N/S lanes. By the time I got there he was running around the truck and trailer, which didn't have a scratch on it. Another driver commented that he was checking the situation out. I thought that he was probably looking for the door to the trailer so he could clean his pants out! |
