It's a spade and a shovel, some snips and some shears, Inbetween that theres some laughs and some tears. Some crowbars and rocks and holes in the ground, Shit to be taken and gold to be found. Untold adventures just yet to be found. Thunder and lightning and wet as a seal, Warm as a turtle in its shell concealed. Hands black with mud, covered in clay, Now the rain has come to SA, It's Just another working day! Hey, I just made a poem! Well that's my life Therrin Oh forgot the final verse.... And now that I'm home there's a beer on the way! Go Well Cath.

| Be warned though, if you like your bar that pretty white colour it came in, you may need to paint it again. The stuff is basically paint thinner.

Hoping I can get some help with my tree situation from all you experts out there! My trees were planted about a year ago and survived winter but started dying after an intensely hot and waterless summer. We watered as much as we could since it is about 150 oak trees along my fence line in 12 acres. We wanted the shade and privacy this would give the property. I left on vacation for the 3 summer months and in my return found trees had begun to brown and die. To make matters worse, when we planted the trees we had placed strechable hard plastic covers on the trunks to prevent the deer from breaking them and it never dawned on us that it would hurt the tree until now that I discovered them with wounds and maybe rot/decay and infested with something as they have tiny holes in the trunks. I want to save the ones that are still alive. What can I do to help the tree heal? Please any suggestions would help. I live in Southeast Texas, USA and it has been extremely hot and dry until now that we got a little rain. I of course removed the plastics but what else do you guys suggest? Yes I am desperate to help my trees! THANKShttp://www.treeworld.info/images/smilies/shocked003.gif |

Tree Specialist is in Texas -- he could help you best - better to start as new thread under ask an arborist. Also need pics of trees - dying and live - and your efforts to save the trees. You are not likely to get much attention in this thread. |

I tried to ignore it but it wouldn't go away. So i kept browsing the forum and i could still my name there i was i wish i knew why, I was like how come that is there. Well as you can see it got the better of me and i clicked on it to read the post. Well i scrolled down further and i found out why, it was for everyone, silly me lol ![]() Well I dont work like many people here do. I have been cutting back my bougainvilleas because i think someone poisioned them. They almost died but it seems these plants are just too strong for the poison as they started to re grow. So i cut them back to the new growth and i did notice that as i cut the branches it looked like an orange sap or liquid inside the outer branch if that makes sense. Maybe its the poison. Well anyways they are growing again. Maybe i will take them out for good. I am also looking for Willow tree branches, bark, cuttings, or a small plant to grow. I found some pine tree seedlings growing within my plants as well, i will have to repot them i guess. Thank you for asking me what I been up to lately. It was nice to be asked. Thank you Lu

Therrin, Work has been busy lately. This is my favorite season (Fall). I am mostly fertilizing (fertilising for the down unders) and a fair bit of pruning and removals. The summer was worst ever for heat and humidity in the triple digits across the board. Will be moving back to Perth,Australia in January for good! Cheers, Carson |

learn to trust them, dont keep ya side strop too tight or too loose, dont let your side strop go too low and if your climbing thin spindly limbs cross ya strop it will choke the limb if you slip

The leg pain from the spurs will subside in time or perhaps fine tune the adjustments to make it bearable. Avoid walkin to far in them, so on at base of tree off when ya get down. Soon its very hard not to use em all the time. This is not good for trees that you should be taking care of not fillin with holes so spikes for soxin ropes for savin. Had this lady that went absolutely crazy when I started pruning her street tree. The street we were on had the houses set back from the footpath a bit so the council had trees either side of the nature strip and we were just lifting branches over the footpath instead of giving the trees a full uplift. I cut 1 medium and 2 small branches off the footpath and neighbours driveway and the lady there comes out (can't emphasize the hate without all caps) "What are you doing, stop f##k#ng destroying my trees, you only have to cut 2m above the footpath and 4m above the road and not touch anything else so stop f##k#ng touching my trees". Went on like that for a few minutes, kept telling her why we do it but she wouldn't have a word of it, even though theres bifurcations coming over the road and her house. Eventually I just got bored of trying to debate the finer points of amenity tree pruning and starting cleaning up the branches I cut down, put my earmuffs on, picked up my polesaw and walked away while she was still screaming more crap. |

| Lol, our standard line we are told is 'Ring the council'. Keep saying that. Also this happened about 11:30am and the lady wasn't really an eye sore, just fkn agro. All the other girls that come up to us asking stuff have been nice and pretty hot.

Been busy working full-time with a good crew and plenty of big kit. Boss just picked up new Haiserhack chipper. Thing is a monster swallowing logs. Had to get it noise tested for council planning due to complaining neighbors. Spent two nights on the sauce so feeling a bit rough today. Back to work tomorrow should have some big beech trees to fell this week. |

Doing a bit of traffic control as part of my ticket requirements, we were pruning some cypress' off the main road. We had 1 lane closed and 2 stop/go bats going one of which I was on. All good until the last batch of cars as we were packing up. I was on the clear side of the road and had an arrow in the middle of the road to tell the cars to go back on their side of the road, this one lady just keeps pressing ahead on the wrong side as im trying to wave her onto the right side. It ended up with me walking into the middle of the road forcing her onto the right side with an aggro look to get the point across.
