Therrin,
Just picked up a bid for pruning 21 Live Oaks (Quercus Virginia) sp? at a Mall and got a half dozen Longleag Pines to remove from a triangle of power lines going to houses, other than that, pretty quite now. Business seems just steady enough to keep from starving this year. I could also use a hurricane to spawn some tornadoes, hope nobody gets hurt but it would slam some business before summers over.----Then I could cut the legs off the 23 pound 26 inch tall Mosquitoes until the first frost. lol See Ya----Mike

Not correct in this case, the off colour in the photo is due to the roots being sprayed with marking paint to show up in the photo's (Not sure if the paint would have an effect thou). The company that we use in melbourne is focused only on tree root excavation, not commercial pipes etc. They have worked out a pressure mix that does not effect the bark on roots. As far as I am aware they are the only company in Melbourne that has. They do hydro-aeration also which has worked on several euc's that we had done.

Cheers for the link to the other post, good info.
Who is the company, and what level of pressure do they use?

G'day,

I went out on my own about 3 months ago, after working for a tree company for about 2 1/2 years. I'm mostly doing contract climbing and looking to do more of my own jobs.

Did a big Angophora hanging off the top of a cliff about a month ago, in sydneys north shore, which was pretty cool.

Enjoying the climbing!

Well, been trimming out new homes the last 4 months or so....but that's about to end again...lol. I have been moonlighting tree work here and there just a tad, I do miss the climbing . The trim work has been keeping me pretty busy though. Got a contract climb job for this Friday with a company here in Louisville,a huge maple that has a good size hazard limb to the neighbors property to remove. Should be a fun one. I'm a little rusty, I'm going to have to get my gear back out and take a refresher course in my big ole persimmon tree...lol. Boy that tree made another bumper crop of suckers this year. Guess I'll clip em out again.

I just done a couple more "RTI's" on both Redland City Council and Brisbane City Council to see what the boys clubs have been doing, see how one eyed, corrupted, biased and interfering these places are to everyones right to earn a living free of an organisation.

I think I have the pictures of my front yard attached now. Would anyone like to suggest one or two good kinds of trees to put in the lawn?

Wow, I wouldn't buy any, just get those you have away from your house and transplant them in your yard. You got a star pine in that corner(not good), the palm, and looks like a sorry jacaranda. All to close.

I'll be taking down a rubber tree next week. The last time I pruned one, I got that sap all over the chainsaw bar. It was a terrible job cleaning up! Does anyone have any advice on how to clean it off other than with petrol? Thanks in advance for any replies!

Gee hard to say but is that a Norfolk Island Pine next to your house? If so perhaps consider they grow to about 80+ foot and quite fast your gonna have an indoor plant real soon. What kinda soil you got and aspect and climate may help choose a plant.

I'm always amazed why in the deep blue sky do builders and landscapers want a flamin garden up against a house.... let alone the junk they plant in it.

pharbo, that is not a big space that lawn area, a large shrub will do (ht 20' and spread 10') because frankly if you want a tree then expect no lawn in the future when it gets shaded out.

Even that Norfolk pine would dwarf the house in years to come.

Funny you should ask...cos right now I'm working on dispelling the ridiculous notion that Barn Owls are intrinsically menacing or intimidating. I mean, COME on!! Right ?
