OmG?! Only like 5-6 left before I have to sleep and wake up to start my new job, the nerves are really starting to go for it now, getting a bit shakey too. Been like 10 days since ive done any actual tree work, decided to refresh myself a bit by pruning my peach tree back off the house, deadwooding it and get it growing up instead of out.

Good luck on the new job. I hope it all works out good for you. As for me, I'm getting ready to go and cut some fire wood, behind my barn. Have a good one. Bruce.

| Ah well, we'll find some time soonish I guess. I'm taking some of the stags out soon (hopefully), so there might not be much left to spike up. Plenty of trees to rope up and an awesome view from the canopy! I'm leaving one stag, but it's way too bloody dangerous to climb.

So I signed up so I could repley to their conversation. When you think yer safe is when yer foolin yerself

I never realised how useless the BC1000 is until today, never will I buy one of those POS. We were trying to chip malleluca and it just wasnt going, no lift and crush, struggled to get curvy branches through.

| Melaleuca does strange things to my saws as well... there are a few natives that rip the whatever out of my chains.

We had a 192 and HT75 going through malleluca just fine. I was just incredibly shocked how bad the Vermeer took it, I thought it had lift and crush, that would have solved the problem.

I'm working on a pond, a friend dropped of this square bath thing and I'm going to dig a hole and put it in the ground and put bush rocks around it and goldfish, ferns and other plants and make a fish pond. With a fountain, I know a lecy that will come and put electricity to it for me. It's going to look excellent! |

| The more I use the BC1000XL the more I take back this comment. Apart from the malleluca it takes everything pretty good, starts first time everytime and chips pretty good. Right now im doing at least double the work than I did in my previous crew and in half the time.

Hey there, Have been up a few Blackwoods and Gums doing some confined felling. All went sweetly on both jobs. I Have been trialing a pair of "Wolf" climbing Irons before a possible purchase- has anyone got some experience they could share with me please? Im pretty happy with the way they handle. |

The idea looks good, seems more feasable than Gekkos. You like them? What is the gaff length, often we get to choose "shorts" or "longs"? Link to see the climbers

They hold/support quite well for long periods and although they have a bulkiness and extra weight to them I think its an acceptable trade off. I see pictures of guys wrapping towels and binding up their ankles with all sorts off stuff to try and reduce quite major discomfort. I think the Wolf design has done pretty well to meet a wide range of off the shelf users. My only real concern at this stage is if you decide/need to step onto a branch/limb then the plastic moulding on the bridge under your foot can be very slippery. Just like to say that the vast knowledge and individual viewpoints on Tree World is invaluable and are learning lots already. Thanks | |
