Have not been around here for a while so I was reading a lot of the postings to catch up on the goings on and to learn something new as usual. Planning a trip to Venezuela to visit my family after Mom passed away last month at 102. Her body finally decided it was long enough and she lived al ong productive full life. RIP. Things are getting interesting with the economy around the US and I am sure many Tree Companies are suffering the effects of the stupid bankers orgies. So we all get to pay for the broken dishes. ![]() No point to depress anyone anymore than needed, So go out and have a |

Well I I'm back from the course in Brisbane, it went good. Got my yellow card for under 11 meter picker and scissor lift as well as over 11 picker or boom operated picker. Of course I took some gear to help my Aunty out with a sick Pionciana tree, and a big yard clean up.Best part was I told her to get someone in with a chipper to get rid of it all, and presto a 18" vermeer turned up for me to oggoll over hmmmmm. Oh with a winch hmmmmmmmm. Went fishing caught 3 nice Sweet Lip, great eating. Will get the chipper and stump grind cert next time I'm down there I think. Picked up my 222 stumpy this arvo with the new 27 horse motor, carn't wait to use it, looks good. Had a lot of calls while away, handed out 8 quotes today, hope they come good as things are a little quite. Coca's clean tomorrow morn, and then storm damage out of a Coolabah tree from Christmas time, and mabie set up a vegie patch for a lady. Good info on the Auto feed thanks guy's.I think it could have the problem behind the control panel I think, not sure.Got a price for a radiator for it 1200 dollars, hope it last a bit longer. 40+ degree's out here again today, god it was hot, drank 8 liters of water, worst part is I hate the sh.t. ![]()

Hey are you really that suprised, these days with all the extra crap that they think up to get more money out of you.Ekka Has a lady by the name of Judy called you at all??.

Hi all, Just got back to the old Blighty about 4 hours ago. Yes Ekka you are right i have not posted for a while, did you forget??? have been in New Zealand for a month. Was hoping to maybe meet up with some of the guys over there but had no reply to the post i placed a few weeks befor leaving the UK. Boo hoo. Well saw almost all of the North Island, apart from 90 Mile beach. Did not get to the South Island. Hope to come back and take a look around there at some point. Have been over whelmed by the beauty of the place, and i am told South Island is even more stunning. Did see a lot of logging trucks on driving around, also saw a couple of saw mills down Masterton way. Well to tired now to carry on so will post in a few days. And hey, Climb safe out there. Rob. ![]() |

Hello Tree world! Working on three hazard reports right now, (Two Gumbo Limbos and one J. Dogwood). The gov down here requires a letter from a certified arborist before they will give a permit to remove. Thats good for me. Although the economy is slow the tree work is still coming in for now. I have seven tree to thin out, and one removal. Palm work will pick up around May. Thats all for me Anyone feeling the slow tide of the economy yet? How's the economy in Australia? |

| Not too bad. Many companies are using the current situation to restructure, sort of a convenient way to BS their way into staff shedding I'd say. The whole thing here is driven by consumer confidence, and the continual barrage of BS by media drives that down so things slow. Rubbish like "the worst since the great depression" etc is just plain bullshit, exaggerated and nonsense. You look at varying economic data, there's still growth just not as much. Banks are also raising $billions from the private sector as guaranteed bonds by the govt ... the money is out there, the banks here are very profitable, amongst the best in the world.... now with 3 years guarantee by the govt. The govt has serious surplusses and is using them to buffer the downturn, they already threw $1000's for family's and now every tax payer under $100K a year will get $900 tax free sent to them to spend spend spend. The mining industry has taken a hit as Asian economies slowed demand and resources prices fell, why mine something when it's not worth it, no secret in that however the mining boom was due to unrealistic resources prices which now have cooled. Sadly, about every 10 years to 15 years some financial bullshit comes along to "rectify" the market, seems excessive booms always become busts, but the writing was on the wall for this one 3 years ago. As far as USA is concerned it had it coming, shamefully it dragged many others into it's BS. An economy fuelled by debt and war eventually must come undone. Govts unable to balance their books borrowing $trillions, banks cheating and lying selling crap .... NINJA loans etc, all had to happen and now when the dust settles some-one of some decency might actually regulate the mess so it doesn't happen again.

Old Timer, sorry to hear about your Mom. Been Busy converting a Fork Lift that has been made to fit the Three Point Hitch System of a Tractor, into a Skidder for Tree Tops, that aer in my Bush, that was Logged last year. Works really well, especially since I added Chain Hooks on it, and put more Weight on the front of my Tractor, to keep the Front End down a bit. ![]() ![]() I even built a Chain Saw Box/Work Bench to Tote around with the Tractor, and Fork Lift, or Loader Tractor to and from the Bush. I use the Work bench for manely Fueling the Chain Saws, and Changing Chains on the Chain Saws. I have all my Chain Saw Gear, Gas/Oil Mix, Bar Oil, Tool Box, and Axe, loaded in the Shelves, and Drawers of the Box. Bruce.

I'm not a cool tree guy like ya'll, but on weekends sometimes I pretend to be one. Have chainsaw will travel. My gig is soil engineering, just finished a big project in downtown Portland, putting a new basement under an existing commercial building. Things are slow in my neck of the woods. These are times that make you glad to be self-employed. Even though I may not be able to afford to pay myself a salary, at least I'll always have a job!!! Or, at least, until they come and take all the computers away... |

Hi guy's been a little bit busy here, amazing. Only got one of my Quotes in and did the job last saturday, three large Carbeen tree's in a Caravan park, two had a 40 inch diameter and the other 35, and one gum tree. The owner took the trunks, bugger I had dibs on them for a BBQ table top. Just had two day's weeding a 60 meter long and 15meter wide garden bed,had two rake it all out two as it was full of bull heads and burrs like youv'e never seen.14 cubes worth of sh.t. I relaxed on Sunday and planted my fifth and last try at a mango tree, frost gets them every year no matter what I do. I also ran some low density dipper system around the gardens and planted out six olive trees.Dug and ran drippers to these as well, looks good.Might plant out some Jacaranda's next week I think, on the paddock fenceline.I am really keen for a Canforlorrel but have been talked out of it too many times.Just love ther look and smell. Starting to slow here a little though, work coming in dribs and drabs. Hows everyone elese doing out there.

| Here is some Pictures that I took a Year Ago Past Christmas of my Daughter driving the Snow Mobile, that my Dad bought New in December of 1969. I was going on 4, then. It is a 1970 Nordic Ski Doo, and runs as good as it was New. My Daughter was 10 in these Photos. Bruce.
