Default You and Trees! What's the connection?

Didn't want to do a poll and didn't want to read through a milion pages to see if there was a similar thread. I don't want this to be about why you are in the industry and I don't want to give you pre-answered answers with a poll. Simply I would like to get to know some of you better and honestly through your answers about how you feel about trees. Whether they are a means to a paycheck or whether you have taken time to know them and have inadvertantly become involved or whether you always felt involved. I gather throughout the forum there is a passion but it seems a lot of it comes from the industry and I am simply wondering how you all feel about trees???

i dropped out of school at 15 and my father told me it was time to go to work. Called my older brother and he picked me up the next day. I literally went through years of boot camp where i got my but whooped on a regular basis. my brother was an old school climber with guts of steel. he always kept me safe but was very trying for me. looking back he had taught me so many gems that keep me safe that i cannot repay. especially on approaching dead trees and difficult situations. he would always tell me that if there was any doubt to put a rope on it. he would make me tie in below if necessary and coached me through so many difficult trees. etc, etc.
From a personal standpoint i believe trees are a gift from God and i am to be a steward with this resource. It is expected of me to not take them or there caretakers(home owners) lightly. i am expected to continue to advance my knowledge of them and how to keep me, my workers, the trees, and everybody else impacted by them safe. I love the work, I work like a stinking animal, and i expect to become a master at this over the next 10-15 years.
whenever someone tells me something to better my skills or puts me down for something, i overcome and master it.

oh, by the way, i like oxygen
shade
fruit
fire
houses
paper
maple syrup
plywood
and on
and on
and on.
how bout you treerep?

I travelled a lot when I was younger and saw a lot of trees in a lot of countries and it has made a great impression. Now I just want to know as much as I can about trees without ruining what is a simple love of nature and the environment. I am extremely passionate about trees and tree health. Mis-management of trees sends me bananas as I see there is no need for it and I just want to get the message out. Unfortunately in my neck of the woods mis-management has become the norm and it's a frustrating game but with any luck the message will get through.

Getting deeply into tree work has totally changed my life, never before have i been so excited to get out to work.

Spending a good part of my day in the trees has changed the way i look out life, seasons, years, decades, and 30 years from now is always in my mind at work ( when pruning and the likes mostly i guess)

how my action's effect something so important in our environment, caring and loving what i do (even the bits were i think...... oh damm i better check my undies)

learning everyday

the battle of man vs nature

the maths of rigging

the look on the customers face when you finally ID there loved tree ( in latin)

the science of botony

the skill of a throw bag and the rush when ya have a 80% + day with ya hand shot

the sweat dripping in my eye burning like a bastard while the 046 is running 20+ m up a tree

the comradeship of your crew ( and our industry to be real)

Going to bed at night knowing ive done a days work

thats why im here!!!!
