So hows business
Just wanted to ask how we are all doing in this current global downturn in the economy.
I am based in Victoria, Australia specializing in all areas of arboriculture and business has never been this quiet, has been for the last month.

I still have removals going on around Sydney but the more delicate work has definitely slowed down over the last 18 months,

I have spent a few days of the last month as a contract groundy on some bigger removals. Some of the guys around here cant afford to be slowed by labourers which wont stick around, also i have insurance and use my own saws which they seem to like

Here in Canada, we had a recession in the early 80's, the early 90's, early 2000's and now since fall 2007, and just as we were getting a teensy weensy bit better, it is falling away again. I am looking at courses in other fields - don't know how I will survive the winter. Work has been sparse this year - paid bills so far, but all those recessions, have lots of debt and it is hard to pay it down when you are barely scraping by. There are some people though (richer ones) that don't think we have been in a recession here. Lucky them.

thats exactly what I'm doing, got a builder contracted to the NSW gov who has started throwing me some work....he gets all the cream though-has 6 or so crews quoting against each other- pretty sure he takes the cheapest price then adds to that the most expensive and that total is what he invoices to the Govment
