| Hi! Regarding paperback and 2 ply, most of our printed products are done in the 2 ply because they are more sturdy and people usually like the wood on both sides. (Also to note, the wood can be written on very easily with a pen if needed.) The paperback is mostly used in the sheet sizes for people that may be using for crafts and gluing onto things or they may be running them through their own ink jet or laser printer. However, if anyone would prefer to use a paperback, we can put a thick paper backing on them so they are more stiff to hold up better for business cards. We can take pretty large e-mail files, but if your file is not going through.... do you have the capability to "stuff it" or "zip it"? If this does not work, we may need to resort with sending it on a disc. Unfortunately, we do not have a special site to send artwork to besides our company e-mail which is tara@cardsofwood.com. Regarding shipping internationally, we have not had any problems with the cards being confiscated before. We do document them as wood business cards, and there may be a customs charge... and perhaps will be held up at customs to be checked, but really for the business cards we have not had any major problems or hold ups. We have shipped postcards, wedding invitations, clothing tags, etc. with no problems..... so, this is good news! Thank you! |

| Thank, YOU, Tara. I'd like to add to Tara's answer to Ekka's question: Quote: Choose from 1-ply veneer with paper back, or 2-ply veneer. Quote:
If you look really close at the edge, you can see the glue-line between the layers. Then there's a third, maybe it's lesser known, maybe more expensive, I don't know, but help me out, Tara, it is a plastic back laminate, super-thin plastic coating. I have gotten this on my birdseye maple cards, makes a very durable card, glossy-clear on the back, really enhances the grain. What's up with the plastic laminate backing, Tara? We know you know.... ![]()

| Hi! The glossy coating is a dry film adhesive that is fused onto the wood which has a high gloss look. We can put it on both sides or just one side. Putting the high gloss coating onto the cards adds $0.05 per card. Some people feel it takes away from the "natural" look of the wood, so it is really a preference issue. I love both ways! I hope everyone is having a great week! Thank you, Tara |

The dry-film I got, I think, was by accident. It was on the backside of some curly maple I ordered. As thin as the film is, it adds just a bit more heft, and helps prevent the cards from cracking. Great stuff! Tara, I really need to order cards, ASAP. I have completely run out and things are looking grim here....... ![]()

| Hi Jim! I am ready to get your order going.... I just need to verify the type of wood you want and the quantity. Also, where should I ship the cards and how would you like to pay for them? Thank you so much! We will be able to get the cards shipped out within a day or two of getting the information above! Oh, one quick question... are your cards to be printed with all black ink? Thanks! Tara |

You've really made this easy to order, I simply e-mailed you the business card in digital format, now I choose the wood and you send them to print. You're the best. Ok, I know what I want. My type font is not heavy, and it shows up best on white wood. ![]()

| I wish to get a variety pack, 50 of this and 50 of that. And a hundred of these and very special request of 50 of those. Here's a blanket special request for all the cards I will order; could you have the specie of wood printed on the backs of them? This is because birch and aspen look a lot alike, and the curly and the quilted and the birdseye maple have their similarities. |

| Also, is that backside plastic laminate available on any and all woods, or is that just for the birdseye maple? I mentioned quilted maple above, but I don't see that in your collection. Do you have that? ![]() |

| Ok, looks like we have an order in the works! Did you want to go with 250 cards? Our minimum quantity is 100 cards. Now, I'm going to try to break this down, so I am sure to get the correct types of wood in your order. I am reading that you would like Birdseye Maple, Paulownia and Sycamore for sure. Is this right? |

| We can do the high gloss coating on both sides or just one of the sides. Your choice! We can put the coating on most of the veneers except the Eastern Red Cedar...... and we will have to test the Paulownia. We have not coated Paulownia yet. ![]() |

| Why don't you laminate the fabulously scented aromatic red CEDAR? These have been a favorite card of mine for years, very beautiful and impressive, not a highly durable card, but most impressive. colorful, swirling grains, different colors..... MMmmmmmmmmmmmm |

| Hi! Ok, I am putting in the request for the woods that you want for your order, so I should be ready to print the cards this week. Regarding shipping costs, it is hard for me to give you an exact price unless I have the actual address it is being sent to...... however, a round-about price for most of the international shipments of 300 cards by UPS is around $85.00 for shipping. US Air Mail would probably be a bit less expensive. Shipping cost for in the US is $9.00. Regarding coating the Cedar wood, we are not able to coat it because of the oils that are in the Cedar. |
