Blount[Oregon Saw Chain Div.] bought out Windsor a while back. Very good product ,I field tested for Windsor years back. Their technical services manager Walt Galer probably knows more about sawchain then any other person on this planet. I really liked the guy,I learned alot from him.
I did a little dis-service to Windsor though, about 25 yrs ago I found the oil holes[both rails drilled through] on Windsor's Stihl mount bars [ Stihl could only sell their saws in Canada with Canadian made bars on it] were plugging up easily. Oregon bars with their blind drilled holes[only 1 rail drilled] gave me no plugging up problems. After I wrote a few letters to Stihl, Chainsaw Age Magazine and a Stihl German factory engineer [Yurgen Wolf]who came and visited me about the problem, Stihl Canada then dropped Windsor and outfitted their saws with Oregon, painted gray with Stihl on it. The ball started rolling for me and Stihl eventually hired me. Stihl still has Oregon bars on their saws here today. A little catch though, bars over 24" are Stihl German ES bars, very good bar.

I've never tried Windsow bars, top range Oregon are good but the Stihl Rollomatic ES bars are the ants pants I reckon.

I did try Windsor, Carlton and Oregon chain, and to this day 10 years later I use Stihl chain thanks to those brands I tried.

Presently I have a couple of Chain Saws, that came Originally, with Windsor 16" Sprocket Nosed Bars. One in fact is almost 41 Years old, and has Cut One Heck of a Pile of Fire Wood. It rests on my Mac 10-10 Automatic, that my Great Aunt, bought for my Great Uncle for his Birthday, in 1968. The Sprocket Nosed Tip, was replaced though, a quite a while ago, when Dad had it.
The Other is on my Pro Mac 60, that my Great Uncle bought back in 1974, and it too has Cut a Pile of Fire Wood. I bought this Chain Saw, in 1984, from my Great Uncle, and it also has the Sprocket Nosed Tip replaced. Bruce.
