I have ten 6 year old white spruce trees all planted in a row, I got them from a nursery back in August, and they have all been doing great, but I notice one of them is turning brown, im very worried, I love them dearly, and would'nt even want to lose one, could this be normal fall needle drop, or does this look like a disease of some sort, I water them every other week, so they are not over or underwatered, I even mulched them, am I worrying for nothing, does it look like its on its way out? please let me know, thanks. I forgot to add that my dog did pee on it, but that was only once, and it is a little crooked, they turned brown when I first bought them, but then recovered nicely, im trying to block my terrible new neighbours.

Kinda' looks like fall needle shed to me. Is it real windy there? In one pic the tree looks like it's been blown/knocked over? Can we get a couple more pics? |

Its not to windy here, its just really crooked, the nursery told me that from seedlings they grew in a big bunch, I have no idea how to straighten it, im hoping it will do that itself, but I dont know, I took burlap off them, and they are doing much better now, I will probably cover the ones by the road when we get a good snowfall. I know they were not planted very deep at all, and if you shake the trunk, they will rock back and forth. I added two more pictures of it. |

It looks like they weren't allowed to form a strong structure from seedlings, if they are packed together when young and not given the chance to establish strong upright form then this happens, they rely on each other for strength, a simple case of buyer beware poor nursery stock; you now need to brace the trees to allow them to start to develop upright growth, but unfortunately they may always have a bend in them.
