I use Geckos with the poles spikes on 90% of the trees. I have a set of the American tree spikes that i put on as needed. The shorter spikes reduce the cantilever effect on my knees. I wear a pair of 9" Wolverine boots that are insulated. I use these for ground work and both types of climbing. The shank in these boots isn't very stiff so I use the Birkenstock inserts $50. They stiffen the boots up so that I don't feel the spikes. I highley recommend these inserts.

I've heard that they twist around your knee more,i've also heard that they use soft metal in the points themselves that can bend.the only good i've heard about them was that the pad is good, but the caddy pads are da bomb for guys like me who can spend up to 10 hours in gaffs.oh btw WLL,after the way you got mb at his own site,we're friends for life.

Whatever happened to the discussion about hook and boot combinations??? Not saying that I don't have my opinion on the topic at hand, but that isn't exactly what this thread is about.

I just cleaned this thread up. All posts pertinent to the other line of conversation have been moved to this thread: http://www.treeworld.info/f14/work-r...rees-7778.html At least one post in THIS thread which contained both lines of conversationo was copied to that thread, and then the unpertinent data edited out of THIS thread to keep with this thread's topic. Let's keep the Hook & Boot combo convo here, and we can discuss the other topics there. Thanks |

Oh, missed it all. Dont forget, there's a video called ..... Gecko climbers vs Caddy Pads Caddies won easily! And they're an addition to your existing spurs so a huge savings to be made switching to caddies over buying gecko's.

ya ll must be talking about the old Geckos. i have used the caddie pads and they did give more comfort than the super wraps but no way in hell are they more comfy then my geckos 2. when i switched over to the g2's i sold every spur/ attachment i ever bought. believe me, it was a lot of SHIT!
