This afternoon we were pruning some Oak trees on Limestone Avenue in Canberra, there was a thick bunch of suckers growing on some woundwood from an old pruning cut on one of the trees next to a fork, looking up and about to trim them off I noticed something red. I at first thought it may have been a red shopping bag of something that had blown up there and got stuck, I put down the saw and reached up to pull it down, well I was bit amused when I reached up and pulled out a childs tricycle, the red bit I had seen was the plastic tray on the back of it.

100's of coons, cats for $ rescue, tree frog, many different snakes, one of them exotic and scary, owls, bats, piles and piles of racoon $hit, Cannon ball, underwear, a tire that had to fall from a plane how it was situated, old bell, tons and tons of moronic cable setups. Will think of more later. |

Damn, man, I had a big fat racoon try to get in mine amongst other encounters. Had to threaten him with a running saw. I think I'd take the coon before him lol.

Years ago when we had first moved to Canberra, there was a guy in the street behind us who used to haul all sorts of strange things into the street tree outside his house, I remember one time he had a table, chairs and a standard lamp up there like a setting for a Mad Hatters tea party.

A house brick last week and 2 large bird nests (crow I imagine) made entirely from fencing wire. Crickey, one tough bird. Still got one in the shed....somewhere.

| good one . It appeared some trapper nailed the horns to the tree years ago. Local aboriginal people call this tree "the horn tree" with much superstition not realizing the horns were nailed under years of wood. After I pruned the tree with some crown raising , the horns were in full view. It wasn't long some young gang member high on crack came by and smashed them off. I'm sure his elders had a few words with him. |

Having spent the better part of the past year cleaning up after a tornado I've found/seen many strange things up trees. These things include: two fleece blankets, a pair of corduroy pants, a pair of coveralls, two garage doors, half a roof, a gameboy game (Donkey Kong), and the scariest of all, a drinking straw, driven straight through a 5" wide limb (it wasn't even bent). I'm certain there have been many other things and including assorted animals (racoons and squirrels mainly) but these stick out the most in my mind. |

| Absolutely! It's currently setting in my gameboy right next to my toilet. ![]() Although, every time I play it I feel bad because it has a little boy's name on the back of it. I'm sure he really misses it since the tornado blew down his house... |

I was cutting up a tree on the side of a main road near home for firewood. When I got the wood home, I began the task of splitting. In this one piece I discovered a grey streak in the wood that started about 2 inches in from the bark, so I continued to carefully split the log to find out what caused it...alas I find a bullet. It had penetrated about 4 inches (based on the length of the streak), and knowing the orientation of the log to the tree and relative to the road, this bullet must have been fired almost parallel to the road. Certainly an interesting find. |

in that case, there would be multiple grey/black streaks in the timber...does that make it zebra wood? |

We found a dead possum pretty low in a cypress, poked it with the polesaw to make sure it was dead. It was stuck in like a bucketfull worth of leaves on the branch, it was nasty. Looked like possum jerky. | |
