Default What trees yeilds best in 30 years?

HI Everyone. I've a land and I'm just thinking of growing some trees to help my kids finances in 30 to 40 years time. Probably be gone then. Was wondering if anyone can advice me on the yields, on-going costs per year and the recommended trees for the period specified. I am located in queensland australia.

Thanks a million.

Blackwoods would be good with that time frame imo or pines both will need proper side trimming to make it viable.

Depends on where in Qld you are rainfall etc.

What do you want to use the wood for? Firewood or get it milled?

Some things I've picked up on as I have a simular interest was:-
Choose the best of your local trees that will suit your end use. 6 out of 10 (natural selection tells you these trees grow in your conditions)
Talk to the DPI. They have good info and research. 9 out of 10
They had a figure of 50acres minimum to be income producing, but hey!, anything more than 5 would be a suplement. no rating
Consider/look into the pros and cons of registering your land as a tree farm because VPOs are tough to get around. 8 out of 10
Go hardwood. Specifically flooring as it will become an exotic building product in 30 yrs time. Pine is a dime a dozen 9 out of 10
Pay for good seed stock and look after/tend it for the 1st 2 years. You can get millable hardwood (right tree, right conditions) after 15 years.10 out of 10
Relax, despite wallabies, hares, posums, greenies, drought, bushfire and beaurcracy its the thought that counts, and the kids will remember you as they pay to have the timber cut down. 11 out of 10
ps I know jack squat about tree farming but this can give you a starting point.hope to increase my knowledge by following this thread.
