ok with 34 views and no answers I'm going to conclude there is no valuation methodology in Victoria other than the Burnley method.

To my knowledge there is no valuation system in Australia that is designed specifically to value heritage trees. The Burnley, and revised burnley method do not account for heritage/cultural elements of valuation particularly well, but then it is a tricky area to manage, just look at the various heated debates that have gone on here on the topic...with people who have much more in common with each other than most!!!

Personally I think the Draft Australian Standard comes very close to managing it properly, but it is only a draft and LGA's are not required to abide by anything other than a full AS.

There is no question in most rational people's minds that trees of all kinds have a value, and of course heritage trees are included in that....across the country there are numerous different systems of valuation being applied in the different states, some LGA's have adopted one system predominantly but it is unlikely they would completely ignore a particular system of valuation if the rationale and methodology were clearly defined and discussed within the particular report.

Here's a thread to highlight some of the issues Monetary value| Tree Valuation Methods
