Default Tulip Tree looks bad!

Can anyone identify what kind of problem/disease the tree in my front yard has?
Help and hopefully I attached correctly the photos.

Sorry, meant to send this photo also.
We are thinking that we need to have the tree cut
down as it is going to crack or fall in the next big storm.

because the tree is on a slope it looks as though the upper side has been buried and probably damaged, this has probably caused all your problems allowing pathogens into a suffocated and damaged cambium.
The tulip is a very soft wood tree and will rot out quickly, i would expect the tree to become unstable very quickly as the base and holding timber degrades sorry but that ultimately means a take down and replant.
