Looks like it used to be an OK tree. Why cut it?
Absolutley, I like to think I was somewhat careful. If I thought for a minute I'd hurt myself or was a dangerous cut I'd of waited and left it. I'm not saying I'm an expert by any means, but thought I made good judgement.
The tree is getting to big and starting to hang a little over the rear roof of house. The roof needs to be unobstructed so as to get sunlight. If not problems will arise and I just put the roof on less than a year ago.

I need to cut that one next. It goes up more than out. How should I tackle this one? Same way with a snap cut? Or use a shelf?

and this post indicate you intend to do a lot more and one would assume without being secured to the tree or in an aerial lift truck. Holding and cutting with one hand or balancing and cutting when the saw used by an unknowledgeable person might likely get his saw stuck in a kerf and as the saw is pulled down by the limb to smash on the ground, being new and treasured, try to hold on to it and be tipped over and go down with the limb to death or major injuries.

This is part of being helpful on a high level forum such as Treeworld. Not giving info after assessing the situation to prevent an accident.

Good luck.

Understood and thank you, Sir. I value your opinion as well as all others.
I will leave that branch to go down with the tree all at once.
