Default Trees that block ocean views removed by Encinitas CA City Council

A twist for the usual story.

Here the council is culling 20 year old perfectly healthy trees in a park (that it planted) because they interrupt ocean views for people in the nearby condos.

ENCINITAS: Tipu tree at center of park controversy has a famous relative : North County Times - Californian 02-07-2009

Quote:
The tree's wide branches block the ocean views of the Coast Point condominiums next to the park. That's not allowed, city officials say, because the city promised the condo owners back when the park was built that its vegetation wouldn't block their views.
Honourable that the city is sticking to it's word but why did they plant them in the first place knowing that?

Now a tree sitter has perched himself up the tree to prevent it getting cut down.

Here's the Google map link to where this is all happening.

Why I picked this article is because it demonstrates decisions made on matters other than tree health, of which legal binding agreements are one.

Also some heat is on.

Interesting twist alright.

Around here the councils offer $10-20,000 rewards for information leading to cathching "tree vandals" that prune, remove or poison trees along the beach to maintain their views.
