Default Tree Topping Town.

Looks like a nice town, except for the trees.

Welcome to Burnsville, NC

Wow, I emailed him, maybe he'll tell us what's going on ... looks like a rampant pollarders nightmare!

Here's a link to a static page with all the pics in a row. Just as well Treeseer aint around he'd disapprove of this.

I have to admit I was expecting to see pictures of scorched trees in our bush fire areas. (Burnsville)

From the website:

Quote:
What's this site all about?

I'm just trying to point out the fact that tree topping is dangerous, ugly, and hurts property values, and to point to information that offers alternatives to topping trees.
Don't you like Burnsville?

I love living in Burnsville. Our town has wonderful small town qualities. Freindly people, lovely old buildings, a beautiful town square, and amazing natural beauty.
Do people in Burnsivlle really hate trees?

I hope not. I think the prevelence of tree topping in Burnsville is a result of lack of knowledge of the detrimental effects of tree topping. Likewise, I think some of the issue lies in tradition: grandaddy topped his trees so I top my trees, etc. In addition, I think that fear-based marketing by "tree services" convince people to top their trees. Likewise, the power utility seems to use tree topping exclusively.
Are all of the pictures taken in Burnsivlle?

Yes. Most pictures were taken inside of Burnsville. However a few pictures show trees that are beyond the town limits. All pictures were taken by me, personally.

Yeah I read that, what I meant was ... there might be some reason behind it.

Perhaps they get tornadoes or something? Obviously tree height worries the people, there are larger trees around but not close to houses etc.

The email bounced by the way.

WOW !

I thought my town (Mildura) was bad ! When I mention to my clients that topping goes against Australian Standards I get blank strange looks , usually I have to check if my fly is undone or something.

Maybe it bounced because they topped him as well, after he posted that.
