Default Thought it was a Pomegranate

This tree is in my back yard in Central Florida. It has never beared fuit in the 4 yrs I have lived here. This year it produced quarter size fruit which appeared to be the beginnings of pomegranate. A week later every piece dried up and is gone now. Can someone give me a name of it?

I expect you are too far south for Quince (Pseudocydonia sinensis)?

Second pic looks a bit like a Guava.

Strawberry Guava maybe?

It KIND OF looks like a Syzygium or Eugenia of some sort? Is that cream-coloured fruit in the first pic attached to the mystery tree?
