Suspect tree lopping & removal internet marketing?

Gday there thought if any-one else has been contacted by this bloke selling a service to boost your tree businesses internet search position, take a look...

I have seen the offer taken up by others, not passing any judgement.

Started with about 10 phone calls from a guy (Daniael Ballard, from a business called 'ClickLocal', wanting to link my business with any internet search made for tree loping/removal in my local area. Sounded like a reasonable idea, but it was pricey, and for the record, I don't 'lop'.

Anyhow, we get the following in an e-mail...

Thanks for taking time out to talk about your web marketing requirements with me today. Please see attached the lead that we spoke about today. Did you know?

- A majority of people searching for local businesses will search on Google search before they make their decision
- 70% of those people will click on the natural search (the left hand side) rather than the pay per click (right hand side) of Google
- Having your business found in the natural search results is the most cost effective way to market your business

As discussed, we are looking for a company to take over our website Tree Removal Geelong - 0419 381 131 - Geelong Tree Removal. Once this site has been set up with your contact details and looks like your website it will generate many more enquiries for your business.

This website has been set up with 6 high action key phrases for your industry, they are:

· Tree Removal
· Tree Felling
· Tree Lopping
· Land Clearing
· Stump Grinding
· Stump Removal

He wanted $600 as an up-front fee, and $300 a month.

No mention of pruning - a bit sad...

What concerned me was the testimonials attached to the generic website you become affiliated with....

Anybody can write great reviews, and stick names to them. If they were that great, they wouldn't need to advertise. Price is bit high, but most importantly, there is no guarantee of work, just payments. I'd put it in the trash, or note it in the beware file.

Yep, they hit me up a while back, pretty good salesman on the other end nearly reelled me in but I spat the hook before he could land me

They offer everyone the same site except with different region names which looks dreadfull and is loaded with the most obviously fake testimonials. The testimonials are supposed to help with the site optimisation in google searches by their repeated use of the key phrases and district names but you know thats not how people speak (not round here anyway)
