Mate, by the time I got home last night the local channel 7 and channel 9 had run their bit with Steve talking to camera Still thats the way of the world if I were taking all the risk and costs I'd probably be the one in front of the camera.

Another long one today but Friday's looking good for the 2nd tree it will be a bit heavier though up around 40tons I think.

How do we get hold of that TV footage? Maybe can get a copy off the station? Surely Steve would be entitled to a copy?

Just coz they got big machines doesn't mean they're any better on work quality.

When people deal with you, as a person not a big business they treat you more humanely. Good stuff, I'm happy for you coz not all of us want the debt and headaches of big business but it doesn't mean we do a worse job.

I did this today Helcam ironbark removal natural crotch rigged

Managed to get 1 'totum' (out of two standing), down. Steep slope with a forward lean down the slope and had to drop the sucker at 45 degrees. Had to rope it in case it started to roll. And then it was time for a smoke. And a coffee.

I'd rather a dose of queen palms than those POS's, the spikes toxic or something, aches for a while.

I hope you killed them not cleaned them.

Looks like a decent hill and hike up it to the tree. Imagine if that log rolled down the hill, far out, just as well you could leave it there.

Yeah, it was a back leaner and had to use high lift wedges and a top rope to get it over. Tied on a 20-25 tone rope at the base to stop her from rolling (hell --- that was nervy watching it go) can you imagine the damage, but, I do have a good rep for getting trees outa difficult spots. No one else wanted to touch this because of the slope (should have put more ?'s on this). Pussies. Keeps you fit though, running up and down the slope...

I got the ride of my life today doing this skinny bugger spotty gum (ex-forest remnant left by developers). I got it on helcam video, haven't looked yet (bit stuffed today after having the Friday 3 JD's and coke after work!), bit of swearing going on!

Then a shit of a block down.

But all done, no damage, nice and sweet, money collected and everybody is healthy and un-injured.

Hey JD, where's the whack a washy pic, man I hate those, thank goodness for 18"
