| Large basal wound to the rear in excess of four feet high and ten inches wide caused by a car hitting it at sixty mph a couple of years ago, that corner we were working on is notorious. there was also Innonotus hispidis present. |

| polyporus resinousus is the other name it goes by, it's a wood destoying mushroom if you like. its hard to distinguish the different fungus's without a lab but there are general ones that are more prevelant in certain areas and on certain trees (im still trying to learn these as there are so many, tough subject) i feel a debate coming on there are people on here with much more knowledge about this subject than me im sure one will be along very shortly. |

| jews ear is one of my favorite eats as are pleurotus osteathus oyster mushrooms on toast (beech and ash) Armillariella mella makes great field stews as do cauliflower fungus(on pine trees in winter) Fustulina hepatica not bad for stir fry's (on oaks and some times sweet chestnut) the best way to learn them is to know if they are edible then dinner gets interesting after a job, or on the job if its a multiday take down away from home i eat well off the land wife just rolls her eyes oh god what have you brough home now. kids love puff balls in garlic butter they are heavenly. |

| 9 properties in Incline Nv. in line for this week. All are fire protection space projects. Tons of trees coming down and liming. Too much work so little time. Finally got a chance to explore the world of logging. Its like Ax Man all over again. No I wasn't in it but for what we do on a daily bases; its pretty dang close. ![]()

| I fell yesterday. =( Not from a tree... Was down at the beach with my g/f and took a 14ft fall off a rock, onto some other rocks. Busted my ankle, hand needed stitches but I didnt get it in soon enough so its healing from the inside out; apparently tore the ACL in my knee. Need an MRI but I cant afford one so I've got this niffty knee brace with hinges on it for now. It just figures. I work with chainsaws, in trees, and I'm fine. Then I fall off a damn rock at the beach. Okay so it broke out from under me, but still. That just totally sucks. Now I'm all layed up for a lil bit. Hope you all are doing better! Stay away from them rocks! ![]()

| Therrin, don't F around with that knee. I tore mine 2 yrs ago climbed most of the day than I was loading firewood in the back of the truck and pop and down I went. That mofo hurt bad! Just like you got a knee brace limped around awhile started feeling good. Walking down the steps a few days later knee gave out fell down 8 steps landed on my side 6 stiches on my elbow and 4 in my head. Got the ACL fixed laid up for 4 weeks and never looked back. Hope it all works out for you good luck.. |

| Thanks everyone. And treerat, yeah its the same knee I messed up in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago. I was just about to take it in ANYWAY cuz I was having trouble with it. Then I fell on it and its all jacked up. I was thinking "Hmmm, maybe I can get some light work done today".... After about 30 mins I came back in and fell asleep for most of the day. Ugh. So is work dropping off for everyone or are some of you out there livin it up?
