I certainly would not want to be growing up in today's society. It's hard enough being an adult and my work shows me the hell it is on our kids. Hurt my eyeballs to read that trees go through the same stuff but can't get (run) away and have to adapt. I always wondered when I saw first hand the damage incoming did if the trees could adapt... decades later I DID see a place that was completely reforested again. I would never have believed it. Maybe the jungle, if left alone, stands a better chance than some other forests. Raven | |

| ![]() I decided today this will be my daily driver although I still have to nail down the color.... I'm thinking Yellow or Orange.... Most likely yellow though. I'm having a hitch welded into the rear engine cage so I can pull a short 8' trailer to hold my gear. Not too practical but fun as hell.

| Strictly Palms! Hey!!! Are you still near castaic? I've been working regularly up in Lake Hughes. Just about 20 miles north of Castaic Lake. I used to take our jet boat down there every summer but haven't been yet this summer. Gah! If you're still in the area let me know and maybe we could hang out for a couple hrs and chat.

| Finished chipping up our job today with a Green Mech Chipmaster 9 inch (native to the UK). 2nd machine grrr. The first one stalled like a biatch and smoked right up pouring from everywhere, so we called them and one hour later they sent out another chipper, TO OUR HOUSE ADDRESS so once we got in contact with them again and found that it had been delivered to home it took them another bloody hour to grab it from there and bring it to our job site. Then the autofeed shat itself and it was all touchy feely with the bump bar not stalling the engine on the capacity wood.![]() Normally when the discs are sharp the machine is great for its size (so small). Other then that was a good day, waiting at the ATM ran into a few of my old highschool mates. ![]()

| I was taking out some dead wood & vine today when I disturbed this guy, [Mopoke or Tawny Frogmouth] you don't see them very often. He just flew to the next tree & waited, didn't mind the noise. ![]() |

| Hey Therrin, Damn... I'm in Lake Elizabeth LOL.... Unfortunately I'm leaving today(Tuesday) to go visit family in Minneapolis, or I'd say lets meet up at the Rock Inn for beers. I'll be back up here in October to visit when I pick up the buggy, we can get together then if you're still up around here.

| Way to go Arbdog, credentials are money makers. Yesterday dead wooded a 100 ft plus oak whose entire canopy was bent over the house and the entire house was encircled with formal landscaping. Had to lower large dead limbs to the roof, groundman had to cut them up on roof and walk across entire roof to throw off. I had to provide correct friction up in tree. Today looked at a 250 year old white oak that had split apart, losing a third of the canopy that laid down on the ground. From the woundwood it was obvious it had been missed by previous arborist HO said had worked there recently and split had been there for about 3 years. We (HO and I ) have decided to save the tree. It is another 100' plus oak and house is approx. 60 feet away, downwind to prevailing winds. Split tore off conductive tissue to the ground where roots prevent tree from falling downwind towards the house. Good news is there appears to be no decay in the stem (yet). It is a real beauty still and can understand the client's desire to keep it. Will need to lighten house side and monitor over the years and reevaluate. Really nice people to work with, client was crying on the phone call. |
