That's not nice, it must have hurt, he didn't post anything on the 20th, it's the only day he's missed since I've been here.

Hope you're OK, Bill. I bet it wasn't tree related.

No it was tree related,i only fell about 10',what hurts was a limb decided to catch me.I was climbing to hook a pull line so i could do a really tigh drop and i didn't take my climb line up just a lanyard, didn't have a saw with me so i was just slinging the safety around the limbs to get up.I didn't fall till i was at the last 10' and passin the safety when i lost my balance and went down.I'm alright no injuries other than relly sore.lol Ekka and Therrin. On the bright side i pretty much sold that ranger, just finished putting a new cam, rocker arms and timing belt on it.

tch tch tch, stop pushing it.

Unrestrained height safety on most workplaces is around 1.8m or 2m these days, that's it.

I set most my pull ropes with a throwbag unless it's an awkward busy tree etc.

you ve taken at least 3 falls in, what 2 years you have being doing tree work? I have fallen 2 times in about 40 years and nothing to be proud of. It will catch up with you. one of my falls was just about 20 feet while low limbing off a short climbing line and ran out of rope. there was a metal spike sticking up out of the ground about 2 ft high right next to where my back hit. the other time while free climbing I fell about 50 feet, slipped on lichens and should have died from that one. you are too casual about this and don t seem to have learned from it.

Oh yeah, I forget, I have seen some pics now of the rubbish trees you got with crap in them.

I have a short climbing line and a longer one, short one is great and light, often doing smaller trees you need to pull the whole tail up as you move around the canopy, be a bugger with a longer rope.

Me too, but now after falling I always tie a knot in the end of the short one just in case I forget which one I got.

When i'm climbing up to hook a pull line i usually take my climb line up and rappel down with that after hook ing the pull rope up but forgot to grab it this time,I guess i figured heck i'm only going up 40' no big deal.Wrong.lesson learned.
