Cleaned twenty-six coconut palms. Toke five hours. No damage to landscape or hardscape. A good day.

That's a lot of smoking...

Better than 5 palms/hour, pretty good.

Nice to hear about palms around here without hearing about slaying!

Just put in a bid for 110 palms, and three big trees to thin. My biggest job yet. Will know one way or the other soon.

Lots of fruiting bodies on that last tree.

the only time I have fruiting bodies like that on a tree was when it was dead .They call them elephant ears first time I have seen them on a living tree .Must be a sign .

Pruned 14 elms today and did 2 pine TD's.

2nd day with me for my new groundy, took him off-roading after work. Met up with another friend of mine and we took our trucks out there. Had a blast, got to know the new guy a bit better. Took he and his girl out to dinner afterwards.

Pretty good day overall.

Threw my shoulder out yesterday so I've been drenching it in this BioFreeze stuff... my home smells like an apothecary now. That stuff works great though, ya can feel it penetrating all the way into the tissues and after it sets in it just starts feeling wonderfull. Can't really complain.

Spent yesterday and today getting several places done.
Rented a Dosko 25hp chipper for it all, due to lack of tow capacity with my little Tacoma pickup.

Ugh... that thing is a real piece of crap after using the 120hp Bandit 95.
It kept the guy's *busy*, and working hard all day at that.

The 011 took a 65' dive today, and somewhat resembled a hand grenade with its pieces exploding all over the place upon impact.
What a good little saw it had been. 22 years was a good full life for it.
R.I.P. 011

The new-guy is a hard worker, intuitive, and can probably out-bench me. He came from the oilfields in Colorado, where they obviously instilled good work habits in him. I really lucked out with that one.

Going to teach him to use saws soon.

Hey, does anyone know where that List went of all the things a groundie should know and be familiar with???
