i was on my bike came off low side as it was wet but it was a no alternative situation. the damage was all to the plastics but it will probably be a total loss. did slide down the road on my back now i know what a turtle feels like if you turn them over. not a lot of damage to me just a bruised foot

Glad to hear you're ok Pomme, they call that being dumped on the soft side! Yeah soft my azzz, bet your leathers are messed up. Some guys (and gals) out here ride in shorts and thongs, makes eme shake my head thinking of how they would fare being dumped even at slow speeds

Hey Pomme,
Sorry to hear about you dumping bike! You really have to ride with paraniod attitude..never think anybody's going to do the right thing..Road rash I hate it and Ive had my fair share, Me personally would rather come off at high speeds..my worst was thru a brick wall and ended up with my front end beside a bed with one very startled owner..not that I knew..I woke up in hospital with nurse cutting off all my clober, But dumping your scooter at 120 mph will do that to you.At least your alive to tell your grandkids.

We have been busy dismatling some dead trees with an EWP,and of course grind, grind ,grind!!!! The one good thing was it was cut and leave.

Jeez Pommie,

What a bitch but glad to hear you are OK.

Whenever I ride bikes I feel like that steel ball in a pinball machine ... I just worry about every car and those slippery white lines and steel manhole covers.

Well, I hope insurance look after you for another bike.

Be safe man, the time I find the most dangerous on the road is school pick up time, no holds barred for those women, doors fly open, indicators always broken, no standing signs read "queue here" and sometimes the back seat is a trampoline for unbelted kids! Watch the woman hour, it's bewitched.

Well we've gone all week without our chipper due to a clutch failure.

What should have been minor turned major with a buggered shaft that has to come from the states and costs $1500! Plus clutch kit plus labour plus less work done =

Hoping we get it back some stage tommorrow.

Trev bitch about your chipper are there no aussie made machines that would make parts easier to source?

mine is UK made and most of the parts are easy to get only a few things are manufacturer only parts

Spent today playing a bit of catch-up. Lost my brakes the other day - went from a slight squeak to complete failure in two days. Didn't crash - I love the diesel with towhaul, but it did cost me 2,400.00 to replace the brakes. I service the truck every three months regardless of how many KM I put on, surprised (and pissed) they didn't catch how bad the brakes were, especially since I had new tires put on a little over a month ago and asked them to inspect the brakes. Anyway no big.

$2400 for brakes, wow, did you need the works like calipers/drums etc or something?

Complete assembly - front and back. Apparently one of the back brakes was rusted enough to seize which caused the piston to rupture, which led to no hydraulic pressure, which led to me almost dropping a load in my pants. The back was metal on metal and was melted and cracked. The front didn't have to be done right then, but after I saw how rusted they were I thought it better to replace everything, especially since we live on the side of a mountain.
