Sounds like you had fun ^^... We removed 3 dead trees today with a cherry picker... Almost had the head out of this radiata pine then the gale force winds came in the opposite direction we needed to top it

Removed a Bloodwood covered with Ivy and had to rake up for 4 doors down the street with the wind. 8 metres mulch and 4 metres of rake up.
Then did tower hire job for another tree guy in the arvo to remove 2 Casuarinas.
Haven't had so much fun since me canary died!

Why isn't winter the same? It's bloody warm up here and the humidity is cranking.

We're on this job today, crap job, gotta clear a yard load of "scrub" and there was like grass 8" long and coppers logs, steel, sleepers, etc etc along with 3" dia self seeded Chinese Elm and that stinking pepper tree everywhere.

So we're into it and BAM!

This ripper of a storm hits around 9am, it pissed down. I'm stuffing as much gear as I can in the front of the ute. What a mess, chip and crap stuck everywhere, mud now for the Kanga.

Last thing we cut is this really spread ole crapped out Brazilian Pepper Tree. What a tangled mess of crap. All dripping wet.

Yeah, great day.

They predict storms next 2 days. I get to check my calls in the arvo, hows this, out of 7 calls left between 9am and 12.00noon by 3pm when I rang them all back only 1 ended up a quote, the rest ... "oh, yeah mate, dont worry about it now I got some-one else". Yeah, like ya just get one quote and like ya dont ring again to not waste my time!

I always listen to all messages first, just in case one does ring back later ... but they couldn't give a rats arse, the spontaneous must have it now or piss off people.

Geez Ekka, i laugh at the people that expect us there right away.
Its like they think you have a crew on standby ready to slide down a pole fireman style soon as the batphone rings

I take it the Brazilian Pepper Tree is different to Peppercorn, Schinus Arera? Never heard of that one.

For many years, we were always booked 3 or 4 weeks ahead with work, now people are not keen to wait a week. I think it's to do with the fast food and everything on line society.

Boring!

So boring stump grinding, especially sucks filling the holes in, just love it when you leave craters everywhere.

What sort of grinder do you use?

Bugger me it was hot here today, stuck me head under the tap and jumped in the pool when I got home.

Summers here and better get used to it, and no daylight savings.

Hey, I rang up the ABC talkback show some time ago about daylight saving and how QLD doesn't have it, told them most shouldn't have the right to vote on it anyway as they're not voting from experience and it should be steam rolled in.

Bloody sun is coming up already around 5am

Hi,
We felled two large Blackbutts in a suburban back yard overhanging both fences and the house, White colourbond fences all round it was like working in a oven, Ground out both stumps with RG 13 with tomy's that's just lost their edge and they still out performed the super's, Make sure you wear your PPE including chap's as these teeth are more inclined to throw things back at you...I dug out a 10mm splinter out of the side of my leg just above my knee cap after grinding, I didn't even know it was there until after I stoped grinding....I thought some bug got me good..then I pulled this piece of wood out and it kept on coming...uggghh.. Alls good now. Next weeks waiting.
