Hi everyone. I am currently studying my honors degree and need to write a thesis later in the year. I was hoping some of you guys out there may have done some root excavation works, hydro, air knife or by hand, and written reports of the results. Basically I am looking for info in regards to size of roots found, distance from tree, species and location. Not much to ask I know!! If anybody can help me out please?

Use the search functions, both forum and the google search box near where you log in. The Newcastle figs thread has some tree reports where they even dug up the road to look for roots. There's some water vac pics and threads etc. It's a hard ask as trees differ and purpose differs.

A fair bit to dig though er pun intended in Arboriculture & Urban Forestry Journels. Search using the key works sidewalks, or roots, a lot of research into tree roots vs footpath have done the digging for you.
