I have a question about a Holly tree. The tree looks like it is leaking or oozing. From the research I have been doing it looks like it may be wetwood. It could be bacterial wetwood or slimeflux. It could also be a bleeding canker caused by some unidentified bacteria. Some fungi also cause bleeding cankers. Bacterial infections that cause bleeding are usually localized around small wounds. Is that an old pruning scar I see in the second picture?
