I have recently moved to Adelaide from sydney, I found a job and a house and all was looking good for a new life. That is until the so called quality assured company started sending me to jobs that were majorly conflicting to modern arboricultural practice, and some that were or should be criminal. I found this to be a regular occurrence so i questioned my team leaders and was told thats the job its what the client wants. The customer is said to always be right but the customer most likely has no idea about trees, that is why they call us. It is our role to inform the client of the health of there tree, and recommend appropriate action that will benefit the tree and elevate the clients concerns. instead of cutting the tree in half because the client thinks it should be done. I found myself with a dilemma try and change the minds of some of the younger guys aspiring to be an arborist, or give up my principles. I tryed to inform the guys i was working with that the methods they had been taught and practiced were consided to be bad practice and no longer accepted in the tree care industry. I found myself fighting a losing battle I was ridiculed and rumors were spread about me this went on for several weeks until yesterday, After been threatened by one of the workers in an unprovoked attack i quit my job i Think next time i will keep my mouth shut! ![]() |

Wait till you pull a camera out and start taking pictures! ![]() I wonder what The South Australian Society of Arboriculture does and if they're members? If the trees are protected you could dob them in to council. Time to move on, some people just prefer the blue pill over the red pill. Consider working for some councils for a stint if you can, find a more reputable company where the person who quotes the job, knows the job, is qualified and not some tree whore.

They are members of sasa and they are the biggest private tree company in Adelaide (Austral tree service) I took my camera to work one day and was told to put it away so didnt get a chance to take any snaps. I thought of working for a council but they only work from buckets and i enjoy climbing to much. Will find something got a few people to call.

Why am I not surprised, I have written enough about the falsified credibility of orgs, here's just another. So typical it's not funny. ![]() On their website they write this ... Quote:
Can you go get some pictures of hacked trees they did and lets see what the real pruning practices are like.
