Smile Newby here, just saying Hi

Hello everyone, Im new here, just wanted to check in. Im a homeowner as you guys put it (scary, I know) from springfield missouri US.

I have a small plot of land with hundreds of trees on it, especially around the house, where the previous owner loved trees a little too much, she left many dangerous trees right up next to the house, keeping in mind that the red oaks in this region are overrun with the red oak borer, and most of them are sick and dying, having an 80 foot sick oak next to the house with all our wind and ice seems like a bad idea. And yes for some of them I will need a pro to remove them, but the other ones should give me a good workout.

So I have begun to thin things out a bit, I bought an ms361 after researching on here and its working out great. Ill try and get some pics for everybody on here and you can offer your opinion on which trees need to go, but I have to find the cable to my camera first.

All in all this seems like a great multinational forum with little fighting. Im enjoying reading all your posts.

Thanks for letting me participate.

Sounds like a good project.

Fell what you can and get help on the others. Try to have some ropes and wedges to help with your felling when close to the house.

Hook up that camera and lets see what you have there.

Slingshot and pole and throw line and bean bag (Sherrill, top of page ad) might expand your capabilities. You ll need a 1/2 " x 120' high quality line also to send up behind the bean bag and then send up a running bolen to yank tree with.

Look forward to seeing pictures.
