Default Newbie Question & Help

Hi Guys, in the first instance - nice forum....... I have a question however, being a good forum user myself with well over 2000 posts on RIBnet Forums - Powered by vBulletin I have done a search to see if my question had already been posted and answered, as many often have however, I can't find one so here we go.

I have a 20ft high palm tree which has just gone in to flower with three large blooms which apopear to be effecting the rest of the tree, this week alone it has shed in excess of 50 leaves whilst others are starting to turn yellow.

I have fed it but this appears to have simply made the blooms more intense.

Q; Should I cut off the blooms ?

Your advice would be much appreciated ;-)

I have attached a couple of pics - more available if needed.

Many thanks in advance - if you ever need any boat help - just shout

as far as im aware the lower "leaves" do die off, you could prune them off or let them create a skirt type look below. i dont think id be overly worried if it was my tree, looks ok to me.

You guys have been very kind to me, thank you. I'll keep an eye on it and feed it once every 6 to 8 weeks.

I've enjoyed the site, especially the photo section.

Thanks again - power to the forum.......

We have stacks of them around here .... pretty typical stuff, yellow off in cold, heat or seasonal .... worry not.

Also, they're real easy to strike from a cutting if you want more!
