Question Name this tall palm tree?

Hi all,

This is a palm tree that is in St Kilda, Melbourne, where obviously it can get cold. It's pretty tall, not sure how old it is/

Any idea what type of palm it is??

thanks!

LOL, scandalous answer is ....

.... as there is no skirt and no petioles left on the trunk like washingtonias do I would say it's a livistona palm.

Now there's a few types of livistona palms, I think it might be the chinensis.

ahh... thanks, now we're onto something!

I think it must be the "Livistona Australis"

"Mostly this kind of plant is found in moist open forest, often in swampy sites and on margins of rainforests or near the sea. It is widely spread along the New South Wales coast and extends north into Queensland and southwards to eastern Victoria, growing further south than any other native Australian palm."
