Was reading some news today. Tree fell in Mariners Springs, injured some folks.

Anyone tell me what it's like there, kind of trees, soil etc...

The story is as the report states, except the children were not trapped. The trees missed them. Adult female trapped by the leg and could only reach the adult males ankle, who was face down in the water. Children turned him over before running over a kilometer for help at the nearest house. Credit to all involved.

E. regnans on the cliff to the side of the falls came out roots and all. Broke in a number of places and came to rest up side down (the stump lodged up the cliff and shattered end into the river bed).

Wind and rain over time will likely see a few more on that edge go.
