Default Live Linies

Whats the qualification for them? The ones that are qualified to clear around HV/Tranmission line etc. I know its not an Arb qualification, looked up SPAusnet & Jemena last night and the closest I got with Cert 3 ESI - Distributor.

Do you want the qualifications to be a live liney or to clear the vegetation around them? To clear the vegetation you should do your 5099 working in an electric environment (I think thats what it's called) and your CATT close approach tree trimming, to work within clearances it divided into 2 parts, LV under instruction after 140 hours then you go and do your HV under instruction for another 140 hours. Also the safety rules for what ever the contract you work under is.

Power line risk management, that's what the book says. Are you looking to contract to a vegetation clearing mob or to do some work of your own around the lines? If its your own work the energy company needs to be consulted before work is to commence every time with anything that has the potential to come with in line clearances.

Just looking to expand my skillset while I'm still young working my way up the food chain. We are a council contractor doing powerline clearance as well, except when its inside HV zone.

Double post, kinda. Anyone know any training providers in Vic for Cert 2 in Powerlines/ESI (Vegetation Control) that I can get in contact for more course information?
