I just took delivery of this product and wanted to know if another owner could clear something up. In the manual it says to clean the container after use and when not in use to keep the resovior filled with petrroleum. My questions are, 1. Do they mean gasoline, 2. How much? The manual does not make a recomenedation, 3. When ready to use a gain do you dump the gasoline and attemt to rinse with water again, the two don't mix all that well. 4. Will the presence of the gasoline alter the chemical being injected in the future or cause harm to the tree? |

Put petrol in the canister where stuff goes for injecting soil!? Bugger me, that doesn't sound right, unless your injecting to kill stuff. ![]() The tank is plastic so shouldn't corrode, the plunger stainless, what parts could corrode? The only thing I can think is maybe they are trying to prevent corrosion, but of what?

I don't think they mean gasoline, but for when you don't use it for a while, it won't like it. High & low temps while empty won't do it much good. Use a vegatable or cheap olive oil, if you aren't using it, esp in winter. Wash it out first & you can reuse the oil. Not cheap so it's worth looking after. |

Thanks for the feedback. The whole gasoline thing sounds so strange. I think I'll try the veg/olive oil route this winter. at leas I won't kill anything next spring!

Got no idea what this machine does or looks like but here are a couple of ideas: 1. Could they mean the corosion inhibitor used in automotive radiators? 2. Could they mean "Soluble oil" which is the stuff they use in metalworking machines as a coolant/lubricant/corosion inhibitor? Both will wash out with water, soluble oil is available from some of the big lubrication dealers, it's petroleum based and you only need a small amount mixed with water. Dennis. |

Hello! I have been treating hemlocks all season and my soil injectors are wearing out! Two have misshapen springs at the top and the bottom place-holder piece of metal just fell off of the third yesterday. Do you know where I could order replacement parts or send them to be fixed? Thank you, Sophie |
