Welcome Oxman

And what great news you bring with that opportunity.

Special attention to qualifications

"Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Arboricultural Sciences or Urban Forestry and three years experience"

And to think we cant even get a lousy Diploma in arb here

When I die if reincarnation happens I want to come back as an oak tree in PaloAlto

If that town only lives up to 1/100th of it rep for tree protection and care its one of the best on the planet.

The experience part sounded quite low, but of course that doesn't mean they have to take someone with only 3 years.

In fact, 3 years is about the lowest amount of experience to get in the door to take the ISA Certified Arborist test.

Experience......

I know guys with 20 years experience and they are still useless. It is a very important criteria but one that should not be solely focused on.

Ahh but you can my fine man? Just go to Minot State University's Online Campus and you can get a diploma degree that is fully accredited in the US at least.

And the instructor is second to none, in my opinion.

Ekka, you can, in Melbourne at least. When I did Adv.Cert Arb in 97/98 you could do Diploma next. Since they have changed to "levels", being level 4 is equivalent of Adv. Cert. and level 5 is equiv of Diploma. Thinking bout doing lev5 this year but dont know how i'll get the time!

I would love to move back to Ca. Municipal arboriculture probably isn't for me though. I bet they'll get a few good resume's!
