I took a hike in the woods with my dog over the summer, and discovered tiny baby seedling growing at my feet, I decided to pull some up, and take them home with me, I found out that they were lobolly pine, and eastern hemlock, I covered them with a wire fence, and put them in my garden bed, I just recently remembered them and went to check, the pine died, but the easter hemlock is huge! should I get it out of there? it is very nice, I have it planted in basically all sand clay soil, and I know fall is the best time to transplant, Im only familiar with spruce, but how do you take care of an Easter Hemlock? please let me know. Thanks. |

kEEP AS MANY ROOTS INTACT AS YOU CAN. Move it to a well-prepared site with good drainage.

| Maybe 2-4" decomposed wood and leaf chips around dripline (new planting site) to insulate over the winter and into summer...
