Default How to stop leeches attacking

Hi all,

i was wondering if anyone has some tricks to stop leeches getting on your legs when working in wet crappy scrub. Someone told me dry soap works but im a bit dubious

Tuck pants into socks, spray socks/pants with aftershave or airfreshener .... well, that's what I was told to do and I did, never got any leeches that day. Apparently perfume scent pisses them off.

really avoid getting them on you as after they drop off, especially the next week it itches like buggery.

An entire can of aeroguard for four hours work did the job. I had plenty on my pants but none stayed around to have a chew

tape your trousres to your boots and spray deet that worked for us thats one creature that creeps me out.

I keep Tea tree and Eucalyptus oil in the ute and rub or spray them all over before going into the jungle! It works.

That Deet is nasty stuff, I have even had it partially dissolve a flash set of fishing sunnies. Look it up!

My groundy had a big leach fall off his temple as he took off his muffs the other day,, Funny.
