Hello all, I live in Ohio, U.S., and am seeking finger lime seeds from Australia, or, as possible, live finger lime plants from within the U.S. To the best of my knowledge, there are only green pulp varieties in the country at this time, although I have seen some remarkable photos of pulp from pink to purple to red. If I could choose, I would choose to obtain more in the non-green variety, but to be honest, ANY finger lime is better than NO finger lime, and since I have none, I will be grateful to any and all assistance I may receive. I am willing to pay for postage and for seeds/plants as needed. Please contact me to arrange details, and thanks to all for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Tracy Cairns Last edited by Jeff Darby; 25th April 2010 at 06:30 AM. Reason: Tracy, once you reach ten posts folks can pm you with info you require. |

My apologies, not trying to cicumvent the rules, just so excited about the site that I skimmed over them. I will be on better behavior from now on. I have googled and googled. This plant is elusive in the States. I found a gentleman in Florida that has two for sale, but current law prohibits him from sending them out of state in any way, as live plants. In many ways, a good law, to minimize the spread of industry destroying citrus disease. Then again, I live in a state where citrus WILL NOT overwinter outside. They must either live in a dedicated greenhouse, to be heated at great cost 5 or 6 months of the year, or be maintained as container plants. To send citrus plants to me is probably not going to negatively affect the citrus industry in any way. As I also stated, to the best of my knowledge, I have only seen the green pulped variety here in the US. I am not stopping looking, but I have hope that a plea on a primarily Australian site might bear fruit for such a special Australian citrus. Pun intended. Thank you again. Tracy. |
