height of trees

Hi,
My neighbour planted 3 Leyllandii trees about 4/5 years ago. They have now grown to a height which drastically reduces the sunlight coming into my garden. I have spoken to them about this, and they told me that they needed these trees as a 'windbreak' They also have a very substantial hedge (about 12 ft high) on my side of these trees. I mentioned that the trees would thicken out providing an even better windbreak if they are topped to the height of the hedge, but my neighbours do not wish to do anything about the height. In another couple of years these trees will be 'huge' and the cost of carrying out this work will be so much more. I have offered to pay for the work, but even this has not made a difference.

Can anyone give me any advice of where I should go to next. I have tried keeping this friendly and resolving it in a neighbourly fashion, but without success.
