Default Got me a new tree book!

Waterstones are running a 3 for 2 book offer at the moment so one of the books I got was Wildwood, A Journey Through the Trees by Roger Deakin. Touted as a modern classic and apparently the author died not long after it was published. Anyone else have this book?

"The Wild Trees" is by Richard Preston.

I just thought I'd mention it since I saw the topic about tree books having been posted. I'll look up yours if my library has it.

The Wild Trees, is a story of passion and daring is a non-fiction book by Richard Preston about California's coastal redwoods and the recreational climbers who climbed them. It is a narrative-style collection of stories from climbers who pioneered redwood climbing.

Actually its The Secret Life of Trees by Colin Tudge
Others to look for include Meetings with Remarkable trees and its sequel Remarkable Trees of the World by Thomas Packenham. Also The Living Wisdom of Trees by Fred Hageneder

Sylvatica, looked like a good book so I ordered it. I have The Tree by Colin Tudge, I'll have to check out The Secret Life of Trees. A good read I recommend is The Golden Spruce by John Vaillant.

Sometimes A Great Notion, by Ken Kesey. Logging big wood on the Pacific Coast of the US. Great read, made into a movie with Paul Newman.
