Default good books?

hi,

got our arb camp coming up soon. last year they had a good selection of books (no funds at the time). this year i'm keen to pick up some good books.....wondering if there are any suggestions please. Shigo's mandatory? any ones in particular.

Also looking to get the book "on rope". never had a chance to look at it, hear that it's the book to read about Single rope technique and other methods of climbing. any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Erics right, those articles are absolutely excellent, and the on line tree dictionary on the same site is fantastic.

My advice get the basic texts Shigo, Kim Coder, Ed Gilman Matheny & Clark then as you develop personally you'll find yourself draw to particular aspects of the industry/profession, and from that position you can select the best texts for you.

Boy you must have a cut price supplier send me their details I spent over $750 when I first began reading seriously in Arb, and books have gone up in price since then.

'The Growing Tree' by Brayton F. Wilson is one of the best books I have read on trees and how/why they grow. I wrote a short review on it some time ago that can be read at artofbonsai.org • View topic - Book Review: 'The Growing Tree' by Brayton F. Wilson

After you know what you're looking for, try ABEbooks for a bargain. It's the largest second hand book marketplace in the world with thousands of online sellers. Worth a try.
