Default Globe Locust

My Grandpa just called and wanted information on where he could buy a Globe Locust Tree. I've been searching all over the net and can barely even find any information on them let alone where to buy one.

Is this a slang term for a different type of tree? Does anyone know where I can get one?

I'd like to know where to find one, as well! We have a globe locust (it's actually a graft of some sort on a black locust, I'm told) in our yard that was planted years ago and now is dying of a fungus. I love this tree and would like to replace it. So, if you hear of something, let me know! I'll do the same.

University of Minnesota says this about a Globe Locust - a variety of Black Locust Robinia pseudoacacia

GLOBE LOCUST (Robinia pseudoacacia 'Globosa'), 10-15 ft., is a dense-growing selection grafted on a standard trunk, providing a globe of dark green foliage on a straight trunk. It is subject to borers that attack the common black locust. Zones 3 and 4.

whois:globelocust.com has one for sale for $600

Apparently unlike the normal Black Locust it bears no fruit, and no thorns.

Thanks! ... I think the globelocust.com link is to buy the web address, not the tree! I think Suburban Lawn and Garden in Kansas City sometimes sells them, but won't have any in 2010. I guess we'll need to keep checking!
