So you got away with it?

Did the council bloke take pictures? Maybe then he'll be able to re-read the tape measure.

Always always make sure you have the paperwork, if not phone up council etc. You wouldn't be the first bloke told "the paperwork is done and approved".

Phew, but what about the tree, was it cactus? Or was it OK?

So others can learn from his mistakes.

Always have ya paperwork with you on site. It's a funny thing, around this way, the Admin' department (Council) doesn't really talk to the Arb' department much so when the TPO stops a job cuz you don't have the papers on site - it takes 30 to 60 mins of phone calls back and fourth just to verify and be told to carry on.

One thing I despise with blacktown city council is they say: EVERY TREE IS PROTECTED. And they reckon they'll fine ya if you don't have permission. Yet they havn't errected their own tree preservation order, they simply summise off of Hawkesbury county TPO.

What's the rules anyway, I mean do you know what the rule is, what council was it in etc?

In some councils here there's near on no rules, cut anything down!

I knew this would be handy, didn't know where to put it at the time.

Don't think you can get away with much these days. If they want to get you they can. They know where you live: big council is watching you - Technology - smh.com.au

I put it here once, Brisbane City Council
