For what it is worth (probably not too much) my pick for the fruiting bodies around the buttress roots is Ganoderma lucidum, not the most aggresive of wood decay fungi but an unnecessary eventuality given all that has previously been stated about this tree.

They have been informed and warned, I must agree the tree should be removed in a safe professional manner. I'm sure Ekka is equipped and well qualified to to handle the job. As said above , some times bad things need to happen in order for people to see the light. be safe tree world. this is a great discussion.

Looking at that tree its shocking that nothing has been done. Its clearly obviouse that the tree is in serious trouble. With the location i cannot beleive nothing has been done.

I have emailed the head office Brisbane 7eleven people again.

So that's twice they been warned, and also the contractor that did the previous failure showed them this thread.

I bet they hope it fails so insurance pays for it.

round here, its real hard to get the insurance Co. to fit the bill for a failure caused from a direct result of the property owner. maybe the owner will pass over the problem to the contractor they used ta dig/pave or whatever was done around the tree. when/if the failure happens, it sure ain't no act of god. someone will pay up, and i don't think the insurance company will go down without a fight. whenever it gets cleaned up Ekka should get the job considering all the work he has done. i hope this Sev. owner wakes up and pays for a safe take-down, cause emergency clean-up job's can be very costly
BTW, did it fall yet?
