Another thought on the logger. Could it be possible when those trees started falling there was more hinge and he just kept cutting when it was well into the fall?

Those stumps do not look like the work of a properly trained faller , but sure there's a lot of supposition in that! There are a fair number of guys who cut for a living that have no idea of how to fall trees safely long term. In 2005 when I got my forestry manual harvesting certs we lost 6 really experienced forestry fallers in 6 months (all died at the stump various causes)
Hi Sean, can you give a bit more infomation on how these guys died and where. I don't understand how this could happen, I won't say any more until you reply.

You know, tree work deaths are lucky to make the papers!

A guy died up a tree in Manly/Wynnum here couple years ago, got a paragraph on page 8 lucky to spot it.

Ekka it's not just tree workers, the number of workplace deaths in Australia is higher than the road toll but you very rarely here about one. Unlike road deaths where they give you all the gory details, like again today. We're just not supposed to know. Sorry pigdog, we're a bit off the track.
