Default driveway trees

At the end of my driveway there is a landscaped(large rocks set in concrete) semi-circle approx. 2 feet by 3 feet. And I would like to plant a fast growing tree in it. What kind of flower tree would grow fast yet not interfer with the concrete driveway. Yet also would provide good shade in the summer time. Thanks

Poplar and some kinds of maple will grow fast, but the asian long horned beetle - your native insect -- will kill them off. I believe Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus sp) is a native tree, grows quickly - provides good shade in the summer, grows almost anywhere, thrives on neglect, and has nice floral display. Many people consider it a weed tree because of its fast growth and its propensity to regenerate, but these aspects do have their places in some situations -- and your situation may be one of them.,
