Default Danger! Hazardous tree!

OK, here is a sign I saw when I was down in California in a park (Sunol Park in the SF Bay Area) last month.

Beware, there are dangerous trees there! So put a fence around them (like they did with this tree) and post a sign:

OMG, those would be perfect for TPZs. Put the fence up around them and stick that sign on it, no one will come near it!

I wonder if it would work on that new fence down Mexico way.

If you put such a sign up near the trees on many of the development sites round here the developer would want to knock the tree down...since it is so dangerous.

A sign, nor a fence doesn't mean a thing to some people. I was on another web site that deals with antique farm tractors, and farm equipment.
He had just sprayed pesticides on his blueberry patch, had it fenced off, with Danger signs all around the field. The next day, there was some people out in his blueberry patch picking blueberries.
Next time you go by that sign, there will probably some idiot, pretending to be Tarzan, and swinging off a tree limb.

Electrified deer fencing + signs are the best way to keep people out in that case. Deer fencing is like 2-2.5 metres tall and electrifying it will really get the message in there.

That is true. When I was on the sheep ranch we had no tresspassing signs up, and they were ignored. So I had these "Warning Electric Fence" signs left over from installing electric fencing around one pasture. So I put them up and lo, no one dares cross that section of fence any more (even though it is not hot at that location).

BTW: the deer here ignore the electric fences. They jump over them. So they are useless. The elk just tear through them. The sheep pretty much stay away from the electric fences, except the lambs when they are learning about them. The dogs get fried once, and stay away. Humans will read electric fence signs for some reason, and ignore the rest. 40k volts is a really good jolt.
